With over 30 years of hands on experience, horses have been at the centre of Rachel's life for as long as she can remember. Her equestrian career has been built on a genuine love of producing horses correctly, patiently and with their long-term future always in mind.
Alongside her equestrian career, Rachel also holds a high-profile corporate role within the semiconductor industry, a field she is proud to be a part of. Working at this level has shaped a stong sense of professionalism, organisation and leadership, all of which translates directly into her approach to coaching. Balancing both worlds has reinforced her belief that excellence comes from dedication, cosistency and attention to detail.
Rachel's journey has also been shaped by her and her husbands conscious decision to relocate from Berkshire to Dorset, seeking a better way of life for their family and their animals. The move allowed her to slow the pace, spend more time outdoors, and create an environment where her daughter and horses can thrive - reflecting the values that underpin everything she does.
Rachel has extensive experience backing and producing young horses, taking great pride in giving youngsters the best possible start. Although Rachel no longer partakes in the "on board" element of backing horses , she still regularly participates in coaching others through this often daunting process, providing valuable input and advice throughout this key part of a horse and riders relationship building. Alongside this, Rachel has succesfully produced horses for high level showing as well as show jumping, combining an eye for type with correct, sympathetic schooling and careful preparation. She has worked with horses at various stages of their training, focusing on improving their performance, confidence, and competitiveness in their sport.
In addition to producing her own horses, Rachel has competed horses on behalf of clients, demonstarting her ability to ride and present horses effectively and professionally in a competitive environment. Her experience, dedication, and understanding of equine developement have enabled her to achieve positive results both in training and in the ring.
Rachel's background includes managing equestrian centres and livery yards, where she was responsible not only for training and coaching, but also for maintaining the highest standards of horse welfare, professionalism and day to day organisation.
With a particular passion for teaching young jockeys, Rachel finds real enjoyment in helping children grow in confidence alongside their ponies. By creating a safe and encouraging environment, she supports young riders as they develop balance, bravery and trust, allowing both horse and rider to progress together at their own pace without unneccesary, and often detrimental pressure.
A deep routed passion for drag hunting has played a huge role in shaping her approach. Years spent in the hunting field have developed horses that are brave, balanced, and mannerly, as well as riders who are confident and capable across varied ground and in real life situations. This practical experience feeds directly into her coaching, which is calm, patient, encouraging and tailored to each horse and rider as individuals.
At the heart of her work is a belief that good training should be clear, kind, confidence building and available to all - producing horses and riders who are prepared, capable and happy in whatever path they choose to follow.
